Description
This course satisfies the General Education Criteria for a Physical Sciences course.
Lectures and discussions. Beginning chemistry course for students in the chemical sciences and others with strong high school chemistry and mathematics preparation. Chemical calculations, structure, bonding and equilibrium. Students may not receive credit for both CHEM 102 and CHEM 202.
Students must register for one lecture and one quiz section beginning with the same letter. Engineering students must obtain a dean's approval to drop this course after the second week of instruction.

Admission by U of I placement test or consent of adviser; credit or concurrent registration in MATH 220 or MATH 221; concurrent registration in CHEM 203.
